Ikatan Alumni Universitas Terbuka (IKA-UT) Medan memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) IKA-UT yang ke-34 dengan tema Silaturahmi Alumni Mendukung Pendidikan Tinggi Terjangkau Tanpa Batas. Kegiatan Ulang Tahun IKA UT dilaksanakan di Kantor Universitas Terbuka Medan pada hari Senin (1/4/2024) dan dilaksanakan secara daring dan luring. Pelaksanaan syukuran Hari Ulang Tahun IKA UT Ke-34 terpusat di Kantor UT Pusat pada UTCC yang dihadiri langsung Ketua Umum Ikatan Alumni Univesitas Terbuka Bapak Jenderal TNI (Purn) Dr. H. Moeldoko, S.I.P., M.Si. serta Rektor Universitas Terbuka Bapak Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D. secara daring bersama dengan 39 Ikatan Alumni UT seluruh Indonesia.
Ketua Umum IKA UT Bapak Moeldoko sangat bersyukur kehadiran Ikatan Alumni Universitas Terbuka sangat mendukung perjalanan Universitas Terbuka, mengingat jumlah alumni UT sudah lebih dari 2 juta alumni yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia dan luar negeri. Selain itu perjalanan Ikatan Alumni Universitas Terbuka selama 34 tahun ini harus lebih baik lagi mengingat usia 34 tahun adalah usia yang cukup panjang, serta Pak Moeldoko juga sangat mendukung kehadiran UT bisa menjangkau yang tidak terjangkau serta seluruh alumni UT harus berbangga dengan almamaternya. Ketua IKA UT Medan Bapak Drs. H. Muhammad Syarfi Hutauruk, MM. juga sangat mensupport dan mengajak para alumni Universitas Terbuka di Medan untuk berperan aktif dalam membangun Provinsi Sumatera Utara, selain itu IKA UT Medan juga mendukung beragam program dan kegiatan yang ada di UT Medan.
Kegiatan HUT IKA-UT yang ke-34 ini juga dijadikan momentum untuk bertemu atau sebagai wadah untuk bersilaturahmi, hadir juga Direktur Universitas Terbuka Medan Yasir Riady, Kasubbag TU Bapak Salman dan Manager Registrasi dan Marketing Husni Mubarak, selain syukuran HUT IKA ke 34 kegiatan ini juga ada santunan anak yatim yang dilakukan di UT Pusat, kegiatan di UT Medan juga terdapat kegiatan berbagi takjil untuk masyarakat sekitar wilayah kantor UT Medan serta tausyiah oleh Ustadz Abdul Latif Khan juga Doa bersama dan diakhiri dengan Buka Puasa Bersama.
