Pada hari Jumat, 19 Juli 2024, Universitas Terbuka Medan melaksanakan Seleksi beasiswa untuk program Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah atau KIP Kuliah 2024. Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi memiliki program Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah atau KIP Kuliah di tahun 2024 untuk membantu para siswa yang memiliki keterbatasan ekonomi tetapi berprestasi untuk melanjutkan studi di perguruan tinggi. Universitas Terbuka Medan salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri yang membuka pendaftaran melalui jalur KIP Kuliah tersebut.
KIP Kuliah di UT Medan merupakan program pembebasan biaya kuliah bagi mahasiswa baru yang memenuhi persyaratan secara ekonomi dan akademik. Saat ini ada lebih dari 30 pelamar yang ingin melanjutkan studi di Universitas Terbuka Medan melalui jalur beasiswa KIP dengan program studi Teknologi Pendidikan. Pada kegiatan pelaksanaan beasiswa KIPK ini, tahapan yang dilakukan mulai proses seleksi adalah verifikasi administrasi, melaksanakan kegiatan wawancara, pengumuman hasil seleksi dan pengusulan serta penetapan mahasiswa penerima KIP.
